I drove a Millrite for several years, and for what it is, I loved it. It's a basic machine, especially the head, but it's a helluva big step up from the Asian machines in its size/weight. Millrite MVI spindle bearings replacement

On the lower spindle nut. It's easier to loosen it while still in the milling machine head because it is held securely there. Much easier loosing this nut here than in a vise on the bench. After getting the nut loose, I reinstalled it. The trick to loosening this nut is to lower your spindle and lock it with the quill lock.

I moved a 1974 Millrite MVN two weeks ago a distance of 110 miles. I strapped in to the trailer with 4 straps and nailed 2" x 6" to the trailer floor to hold the base. The seller placed the Millrite on my trailer with a fork lift--over the axel as I requested. When I got the Millrite home I left it on the trailer and backed it into the garage.

I own a Powermatic Millrite and I think they are good machines. Price can vary based on configuration, condition, and location. Machinery dealers will ask anywhere from $1000 to $3500. Millrites were available with many variations. The "standard" or base configuration was with a 7" x 27" table. This gives the machine a table feed of 16 inches.
